Rufford arm of the Leeds & Liverpool canal is a little known route to the Lancaster canal via the Ribble link and a great, quiet and easy piece of canal waterway. As of September 2020 there is a lot of Floating Pennywort north of Rufford Hall getting very thick closer to Tarleton. This should not deter you, more use will eventually clear the canal
