Outdated misconceptions of lung cancer are denying people the chance of an earlier diagnosis. From who can get lung cancer to its many different potential symptoms and negative beliefs around survival, forget everything you think you know. It’s time to rewrite the narrative. People have a vivid picture of who gets lung cancer. But the truth is lung cancer is a disease that can affect anyone – men and women, young and old, smoker and non-smoker – and this dangerous misconception could be denying people the chance of an earlier diagnosis. When lung cancer is caught early, it can be successfully treated. What’s more, advances in treatment means more people are living well and living longer with all stages of the disease. Don’t let fear deny you the chance of catching lung cancer early. When you receive a lung cancer diagnosis, you expect your life to stop. You expect to be incredibly poorly and in an awful lot of pain. That is not my experience. I’m still taking the dogs out for walks every single day. I’m still going on holiday. I’m still doing all the things you do as a mum and a wife. £20 Helping people like Warren By donating £20, you can help us support everyone affected by lung cancer through our vital Ask the Nurse helpline so people like Warren don’t have to go through lung cancer alone. Donate £20 today £50 Caring for people like June £50 can help us fund more life-saving research so we can find more ways to diagnosis people like June at the earliest opportunity. Donate £50 today £200 Supporting people like Jules Donating £200 means we can keep challenging the dangerous misconceptions that can stop people like Jules getting diagnosed sooner when lung cancer is easier to treat and cure. Donate £200 today The first step in improving early diagnosis of lung cancer is to increase awareness of all its symptoms – and we guarantee there are more than you think! From a persistent cough and shortness of breath to shoulder pain and finger clubbing, make sure you are aware of the symptoms of lung cancer and act on anything that doesn’t feel right for you. I had three x-rays and three courses of antibiotics. A CT was never considered and because I had no prior knowledge of lung cancer, I never knew to ask. After my diagnosis, one of my consultants reviewed the x-rays and said he could see the tumour, although he knew what he was looking for. Either way, a CT would have confirmed it. It may be lung cancer awareness month but we’re here to support everyone affected by lung cancer 365 days a year. We offer a wide range of one-on-one, face-to-face and online support to both people living with lung cancer and those looking after a loved one. We can help you make sense of your diagnosis and treatment options, as well as offering hope in these highly anxious times. Swimming the Distance Conquer Swimming the Distance. This shop was recommended to me by several people so I decided to go in. It’s a really lovely shop and doesn’t feel like a ‘charity shop’ when you go in. Staff are friendly and helpful. There’s a wide variety of items for sale, E.g clothes, furniture, books etc at really good prices. Will definitely visit again.

I have never been to this charity shop before I’m an avid believer in sending good unwanted items to help others . I took a bag of good quality clothes in on 2nd July 22 only to be asked had I made an appointment to drop off , I said I didn’t realise I had to having never been before to which a man behind the desk said quiet rudely “ well it’s on the door “ I then said that’s fine I will take it home then a lady came & said “ we will take it this time as we’re not busy “ I was soo cross at the attitude of the man that I had to leave quiet abruptly as I didn’t want to react to it . I will NEVER take anything again with that kind of staff there will be people who will not return to offer goods to help there charity 😤
