Always use genuine local trades
We've noticed a BIG increase in the number of national companies advertising locally. They'll buy an 01463 number to make you think they're local and when you call it you'll be diverted to a call centre in the South. You'll hear phones ringing in the background and people chatting, that's not the sign of a genuine local tradesman.
They will want to take a card payment over the phone to secure the job, then you will be left waiting hours while they phone around locksmiths in your area hoping to find one that they can subcontract the job to.
This is a completely dishonest way of doing business and it costs you more money than it should. The call centre takes the majority of the fee for taking the job over the phone, then you have to pay an extortionate price (to who ever turns up at your door).
