Not usually a fan of large non trade merchants but B&Q is pretty good as it goes. The items are fairly expensive for what they are but the range is quite good and usually in stock . Staff are always absolutely excellent, very helpful and I do love the policy of hiring experienced older folk, a real credit to the brand to have such happy knowledgeable people working there. Good management overall.

Had to make 2 visits before finally locating where in the store was the item I wanted. It was compost for succulents. Should be out in garden area. Finally found inside, almost hidden under shelves low down. Very poor.

The staff members need to understand that they are there to help people, not stand and chat together. Appreciate a bit of work banter but do not stand there for 10 minutes chatting in the middle of the store whilst customers are kept waiting and 1 colleague is running around trying to serve everyone by himself.

I love coming to this b&q, I have always come to this store and will continue to do so... however... I got wrongly refused service at the checkout because I look under 25, I wouldn't mind, I'd take the compliment if i didn't have a full beard and a head full of what people usually refer to as "loads of grey hairs". I am a manager of a well known store, I understand the challenge 25 policy, it's there for when the is reasonable doubt that the person buying an item is not over 18. As much as I would love to believe it, I do not look under 18. Again, I wouldn't mind but I wanted to buy the saw so I could cut the 4 metre long wood I just bought into lengths to fit in the car. Sort the old fella out on till, he needs glasses. Also I sent someone else in to buy it for me straight after through his checkout. Its the small wins that matter.

Extremely large B and Q not too far away , if your local one doesn't have or stock the item you want (need) this is the place to go. Good range of stock
